- 71.0ʺW × 18.0ʺD × 36.5ʺHFound in a Hamptons Estate on the East End of NY, this 1940's painted bar or credenza is so unusual and useful. Every detail was planned for entertaining and serving - from the shelves, storage, and bling. The white panted surface appears to be old over mahogany. The carved "wave" design reminds us of the sea where this piece lived most of it's life. Signed Elatan, Aristocrat of Fine Furniture, this was made in Brooklyn. It features two front doors with mirrored inserts. Interior has shelves that are not adjustable (likely for bottles or glass/bar ware. Two side glass doored compartments. Each side compartment has glass fronts and sides with an etched type of diamond pattern. Glass shelves. Mirrored bottom.
The top of the bar or credenza has a hinge and opens up to reveal wood, mirror and holes for glass and ice storage. The top has two mirrored pullout trays for serving. Back side has a dark wood finish. Brass pulls appear to be original.
There is surface wear to the painted and wood surfaces. All glass and mirrored parts are in tact with no chips and cracks. Typical surface wear from use and age. The two oval mirrored fronts have old tape to help secure the original application of mirror to wood. It can easily be refastened with nails.
